  • What is the minimum / maximum that is needed for a reservation?

    Our cabin can hold 6-8 guest comfortably. Therefore, our minimum for a reservation is 6 guests or $600 for the weekend (Friday check-in at noon and Sunday check-out at 4 p.m.). You can certainly choose to have less guests come to the cabin but your rental fee would still be $600. Obviously, if you have 7 guests it would be $700 for the weekend and 8 guests would be $800 for the weekend.

    Deposits of $175 are paid at the time of booking to hold your weekend and deposits do count toward your rental fee.

  • How do I make a reservation?

    Confirm that the date that you want is available by checking the Calendar page.  If that date is available and you have a minimum of six guests, fill out the reservation form on the Contact page and submit it.  We will contact you regarding a deposit.  Once we receive your non-refundable deposit, that date will be reserved for you and / or your group.  Your balance is due 30-days prior to your retreat date.

  • What is the maximum number of guests that the home holds, and do we need to bring any linens?

    Our home has 5 twin beds, 1 king bed and 1 full-size bed. Therefore, we can accommodate 8 guests and we have 8 tables in our work area. It is not necessary to bring linens and pillows unless you prefer to bring your own for your comfort.

  • What time is check-in and check-out?

    Check-in is on Friday at noon with check-out on Sunday at 4 p.m.  One or all guests may add an additional night(s) to their stay, please indicate additional nights at the time of booking (extra night is $25 per person); check-in will be at noon with a check-out at 4 p.m.

  • Why is the address to Sweetbriar Ridge Retreat not listed on the website?

    To respect the privacy of the guest currently enjoying their retreat, we do not publish the actual address of the home on the website. Once your reservation is confirmed, you will be sent the address and directions to the home a week prior to your check-in.

  • Are keys available to enter and leave the house?

    No, keys are unavailable. We have a keyless entry system which allows our guests to have the convenience of entering and leaving the house at any time during their stay. We will provide our guests an access code at check-in and simple instructions for using the keyless entry system.

  • Is there ample parking?

    Yes, we have ample parking in the driveway for 6-8 vehicles.

  • What should I bring?

    Leave your watch and worries at home! Just bring your clothes, toiletries (feminine products) and crafting supplies, including a Cricut mat. Since members of your group may have different temperature preferences, you may want to bring a light sweater or sweatshirt. Weather permitting, you may wish to bring your swimsuit to relax in the resort’s pool.

    You will want to bring food or use our catering, snacks and drinks for the weekend. We supply dinnerware as well as silverware. You may want to bring your own K-cups.

  • What is provided?

    All bedding, shampoo, conditioner, soap, hand soap, bath tissues, facial tissues and paper towels, plush bath towels, and hair dryers are provided. We also have three flat-screen televisions with DVD players (bring your own movies).

    Our beautiful mountain view off the back, also hosts a stainless steel grill with cooking tools, a patio table for 6 and rocking chairs for relaxing.

  • Will there be any scrapbooking supplies available for purchase in case we run out of anything like adhesive or paper?

    Yes, we offer basic adhesive, paper, custom-died seam binding ribbon for purchase on the honor system. There are tally sheets for you to write down what you purchase. Leave the tally sheet and money on your table when you leave the retreat at check-out.

  • What tools are available to use?

    Separate tool areas and a computer station is available with WIFI access in the work area. A library of some Cricut cartridges, a Cricut Expression, Big Shot and extra supplies sold on an honor-based system.

  • Is Internet access available?

    Yes, free WIFI is available during your stay. However, Internet service on the mountain is slower than what you are probably accustomed to at home. Unfortunately, there is no faster Internet service provider available at this time on the mountain. You may find that connecting to the cell tower on your device may be a better option at times.

  • Is there cable TV?

    We pride ourselves on offering a relaxing retreat for crafters. There is no cable TV on the mountain. We have limited over-the-air TV that picks up a few basic channels.

  • Can we use the fireplace?

    The cabin has a gas-log fireplace. However, in the interest of safety of our guests and for insurance purposes, it has been disabled.

  • What are your policies about smoking, children and pets?

    Our home is smoke-free, and we ask that you leave your pets at home. No children under the age of 18; our home is not child-proof.

  • What do we do in case of an emergency?

    The home has an information book located in the kitchen which includes phone numbers for local emergency service such as the police, fire department, and local urgent care center. It also includes contact information for the owners.

    We offer telephone support for non-emergency situation such as WIFI connection issues, television operation assistance, and heating and air control assistance during regular business hours (9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.).

  • Do we have to clean before we leave?

    No, we will thoroughly clean the house after everyone checks-out. However, we do ask that you load the dishwasher, clean the coffee maker, gather all the garbage and take it to the dumpster by the gate as you leave the property.  All sheets should be taken off the beds and placed at the foot of the bed on the floor and bath towels / washcloths should be left hanging in the bathroom.

  • What is your cancellation policy?

    While we understand situations occur where you will not be able to attend your scheduled weekend, cancellations made up to 90 days prior to your arrival date will have your deposit transferred to a future group stay within 90-days of the original reservation.  If your cancellation occurs between 31-89 days before your scheduled arrival, you will forfeit your deposit.  If your cancellation occurs less than 30-days before your scheduled arrival date, you will forfeit the entire reservation amount.  Cancellations must be made in writing to info@scrappincabin.com.  No exceptions will be made.

    A deposit of $175 is required to confirm your reservation.  The full rental payment is due 30-days prior to your arrival at Sweetbriar Ridge Retreat.

  • What is your refund policy?

    Refunds will not be given due to early departures, illnesses, acts of nature (e.g. fire, floods, lightening strikes, weather conditions), road maintenance / road access, power outages, failure of utility services (including lack of water) and electrical breakers tripping appliances, or malfunctioning of any appliances, including: televisions, DVDs, coffee makers / Keurig, internet or fireplace.
